So, by now most of you have probably heard of The Puppy Cam . If not, a) you don’t know what you’re missing, and b) you have no soul. It’s an almost-24/7 live webcam feed of a litter of 6 Shiba Inu puppies in San Fran.

They’re quite adorable little furballs. They bounce around, use each other’s heads as stepping stools, use each other’s butts as pillows, and screech like howler monkeys. It’s strangely addictive, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s obsessed with them – they’ve had over 4 million viewers in 60+ countries since the stream started. But now the puppies are 8 weeks old and will start going to their permanent homes this weekend. So sad! But I think the puppies will be even sadder when they’re separated.

All this puppy love is reinforcing my desire to get a puppy. I had my own wonderful furball, Bugsy (a beagle), for 11 years before we put him down because of liver cancer. However, I work full-time at least a 30 minutes drive away, and don’t know how I could train a puppy on that kind of schedule. Has anyone else tried it? Do you have any tips?
